The Commission asks that people wanting to make public comments on the AAPC Implementation Plan attend one of our listening sessions or submit their comments in writing. Any suggestions for new recommendations should be submitted as a completely filled out strategic action plan worksheet to Nikoosh Carlo, AAPC Executive Director (firstname.lastname@example.org) and/or our general aapc email address: email@example.com.

In order to best serve Alaska and its stakeholders, the Commission is strongly encouraging residents throughout the state to participate in the public process. All voices and perspectives are welcome and appreciated. Topics covered at listening sessions will be related to sustainable communities, economies, security, and governance – the four vision statements of the Commission – and on the four strategic lines of effort in the draft Implementation Plan.

This listening session will take place at the Alliance conference room located at 3301 C Street, Suite 205, in Anchorage. Parking is free. If you can’t attend in person, you may still participate by phone by calling the toll-free number 855-463-5009 (outside Juneau) or 463-5009 (in Juneau). This session will be hosted and moderated by AAPC Commissioner Senator Cathy Giessel.
October 6-11 | Week of the Arctic – AAPC Listening Sessions
From 11am to 1:30pm on Oct 6 (Nome), Oct 8 (Kotzebue), and Oct 10 (Barrow) AAPC Commissioners will host listening sessions to take public comment on the Implementation Plan.

Friday, October 10th | 5:30 – 6:30 pm – Listening Session
This listening session will take place in the Dillingham/Katmai Room Hilton Hotel (AP room) in Anchorage. Hosted by Stephanie Madsen, Kris Norosz and Stefanie Moreland, the AAPC Commissioners representing the fisheries industry and the Governor’s office. Please attend in person if you’d like to testify.
Monday, October 27th | 1-3 pm – Listening Session
This listening session will take place mainly via teleconference – dial 855-463-5009 (or 463-5009 if in Juneau). Hosted by Representative David Guttenberg and Dr Lawson Brigham. Those in Anchorage can meet with Nils Andreassen at the Institute of the North (1675 C Street). Those in Fairbanks can meet with Rep. Guttenberg at the Fairbanks LIO, at 1292 Sadler Way, Suite 307. This is our last scheduled listening session prior to the Nov. 17-18 AAPC meeting.
